Anfiteatro Romano (link)
The amphitheater was an entertainment venue where wild animal fights, hunts, public executions, and gladiator combats took place. The one in Tarraco was built in the early 2nd century AD and underwent renovations in 221, as indicated by the 140-meter inscription, the longest in the entire Empire, which crowned the podium.

Pretorio y Circo Romano (link)
The circus was the building used for horse and chariot races and was located between the Via Augusta and the Provincial Forum. It was elongated in shape, measuring approximately 325 meters long and up to 115 meters wide, and is estimated to have had a capacity of 30,000 spectators (the Bernabéu of its day).

Playas de Tarragona - Playa Savinosa (link)
Another of the city's great attractions is its 15 kilometers of coastline, which gives rise to beaches (Arrabassada, Larga) and attractive coves (Savinosa) with crystal clear waters that are easily accessible. The beaches of Tarragona are characterized by their very fine, golden sand, which has given the Costa Daurada its name.

Rambla Nova (link) y Balcó del Mediterrani
For the people of Tarragona, it is almost an obligation to stroll along the Rambla and go to touch iron (“tocar ferro”) at the Balcón del Mediterráneo. This involves taking a leisurely stroll to the railing designed by Ramon Salas i Ricomà in 1889.

El Serrallo (link)
The maritime district of Tarragona, close to one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean, has a thriving gastronomic, cultural, and economic activity centered mainly on fishing and the sea since time immemorial.

Catedral Metropolitana (link)
The Cathedral, located at the top of the hill, is the city's most emblematic building and also houses Tarragona's richest collection of medieval art. Construction began in the mid-12th century and it was consecrated in 1331, making it a fine example of transitional architecture from Romanesque to Gothic.
